May 10, 2021Great British Spring Clean 2021: Get involved in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire
May 19, 2021With the opening of SunSkips’ new waste management site in Cottenham, the skip hire firm is now actively recruiting new drivers to deliver and collect containers in the area.
The new site – on Histon Road – means the company is looking to hire six employees to deliver skips, from two yards all the way up to 40 yards.
If you know the Cambridgeshire area and hold an LGV/HGV Class 1 or 2 licence, SunSkips is interested in hearing from you!
Mat Stewart, SunSkips managing director, thinks it’s time to break gender stereotypes around waste management and hopes for a mixed bag of applicants.
He said: “Waste management has a reputation for being a ‘man’s game’, but there’s absolutely no reason for that to be the case.
“The key thing is that applicants are qualified to drive lorries, but there’s no reason why people of any gender can’t do this job too.”
SunSkips – which already has a site in Stowmarket – has big plans for opening more sites in the area, so is expecting to announce more jobs in the next 12 to 18 months.
Mat added: “We’re aware that the pandemic has left a lot of hardworking people in the area high and dry, so we’re pleased to be able to offer local employment in a robust industry.”
