December 4, 2025SunSkips has announced new pricing for soil and rubble skips across the East of England.
Cost savings from the fully operational aggregate wash plant in Thetford are now being passed onto skip hire customers.
The initiative rewards customers who separate clean, recyclable materials like soil, brick, and concrete, helping SunSkips recover valuable resources while offering lower prices on skip hire.
Turning waste into opportunity
By investing heavily in its recycling infrastructure, SunAggregates can now process 100k tonnes of construction waste each year into certified recycled aggregates, including fill sand, 10mm, 20mm, and 20mm+ stone.
These materials go back into the local construction supply chain, reducing reliance on quarrying and cutting transport emissions.
SunEnviro managing director Mathew Stewart said the new pricing model encourages customers to take part in that same circular system.
He said, “We’re proud to offer builders, trades, and homeowners a way to save money while doing the right thing for the environment.
“Every skip of soil or rubble that comes to our wash plant gets transformed into clean, usable aggregate. The less we send to landfill, the more we can give back to customers through lower costs.”
A cleaner process with local impact
At the SunAggregates site in Thetford, waste from skips undergoes a multi-stage recycling process. Advanced washing and screening systems separate out soil, stone, and sand, while powerful magnets remove metal contaminants. A high-efficiency silt press then recycles the wash water back into the system, creating a closed-loop process with minimal waste.
This approach allows SunSkips to handle material more efficiently, cutting disposal costs and energy use; savings that can now be shared with customers through new skip rates.
“By improving the quality and consistency of our recycled aggregates, we’re reducing costs at every stage of the operation,” explained Stewart. “That efficiency lets us reinvest in our technology and offer better value to our customers.”

Encouraging responsible waste management
The company hopes the campaign will also encourage customers to think more carefully about how they load their skips. Clean, separated soil and rubble are far easier to recycle than mixed general waste, which often requires further sorting or ends up in energy recovery facilities.
The updated pricing aligns with SunSkips’ broader goal of supporting the circular economy – a model that keeps resources in use for as long as possible through reuse, recycling, and recovery.
Local authorities and construction firms are increasingly turning to recycled materials to meet sustainability targets without compromising performance.
By offering lower rates on soil and rubble skips, SunSkips not only diverts material from landfill but also helps meet growing demand for recycled aggregates across the region.
Claim your savings
Customers across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire can now book discounted soil and rubble skips by calling their nearest SunSkips depot. The offer is available for a limited time, depending on local demand and wash plant capacity.
Mat added, “Our message is simple: If you’ve got soil or rubble to clear, now’s the perfect time to do it.
“You’ll save money, support recycling, and help us build a cleaner future for East Anglia.”
