August 18, 2023SunSkips is the official home kit sponsor of Stowmarket United FC for the 2023-24 season – and the new threads are already getting muddied on the pitch.
The Stowmarket skip hire company has supported a lot of local sports teams – including Cambridge City FC, Bury St Edmunds RUFC and Histon FC – but this is the first home kit sponsorship with the brand’s sunny logo on it.
The club said in a statement, “We are happy to have such a great company on board with us on this journey.”
SunSkips managing director Mathew Stewart is delighted to see the SunSkips brand helping support another local club, especially one so close to the firm’s first site in Stowmarket

Mat said, “We’re all football fans here at SunSkips, so it’s very exciting to see the logo out there on the pitch.
“Local teams have had a tough go of it in recent years, especially during the pandemic when clubs couldn’t play or even run fundraising events to get the cash they need to continue.

“Businesses are often a vital lifeline to smaller clubs that are not only important for the players and people directly involved, but also the local community that come together to support their local teams.”
SunSkips has also sponsored Ipswich Vale Exiles, Sawston and Babraham Cricket Club, Nowton Cricket Club and Bury Town FC.

Stowmarket United was founded by Jordan Stannard in 2011 as a way to play regular football with his friends.
What started as a few small sided competitions led to the lads eventually deciding to band together to form an 11-a-side team – and the Stowmarket United FC as we know it today was born.

After playing several charity and friendly games, Stowmarket United entered a Monday night football league for three seasons, before going onto compete in the Bury and District Sunday Football League.
Stowmarket United has already begun a busy schedule of fixtures this season, including a 4-3 win against Chedburgh FC this month at the club’s home ground, Wetherden Playing Fields.
The team has also made an exciting new signing: Joshua Cobbold, pictured below proudly holding up his fresh SunSkips-emblazoned shirt.
