Breast cancer in the UK
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer in the UK, with around 56,800 new cases diagnosed each year. That means 1 in 7 women will face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
While breast cancer claims around 11,500 lives annually, the mortality rate has significantly improved over the past few decades, with a 41% decrease since the 1970s. Thanks to advancements in early detection and treatment, 75.9% of women diagnosed with breast cancer now survive for ten years or more, reflecting major progress in research and care.

The positive trend in breast cancer survival rates is a testament to the importance of ongoing research, awareness, and early detection. Events like Wear It Pink Day not only raise funds but also spark vital conversations about these advancements and the need for regular screenings.
Mat added, “By coming together for Wear It Pink Day, we’re not just showing our support for those affected by breast cancer, but we’re also helping to raise awareness about the importance of catching it early. It’s a cause that’s very close to our hearts.”
SunEnviro encourages everyone to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating, staying informed, and continuing to spread awareness of the importance of early detection.
