Choosing the right skip size
Choosing the right skip size helps you avoid paying for unused space or finding out you have run out of room halfway through. We cover every project, from a small garden tidy to a commercial strip-out.
- 2-yard mini skip: small garden tidy-ups and simple DIY jobs. Booked by phone or business portal.
- 4-yard skip: bathroom refits and small shed clearances.
- 6-yard skip: the standard driveway skip for soil, stone and general building waste.
- 7-yard skip: kitchen refits and large garden clearances, one step below the builders skip. Booked by phone or business portal.
- 8-yard builders skip: the largest size for heavy waste: soil, concrete, rubble and bricks.
- 10-yard skip: bigger clear-outs and renovations. Bulky light waste only.
- 12-yard skip: larger clear-outs of bulky, lightweight waste.
- 14-yard skip: big building projects and large house clearances. Light waste only.
- 20-yard RoRo container: high volumes of construction waste on larger sites. Booked by phone only.
- 40-yard RoRo container: the largest we run, for site clearances and industrial projects. Booked by phone only.

Clear, VAT-inclusive skip hire prices
Skip hire prices in Cambridgeshire vary by skip size, postcode, waste type and whether a permit is required. Every standard hire includes 14 days, giving you plenty of time to fill your skip without rushing.
We don't do hidden delivery surcharges or sneaky admin fees at checkout. Book with confidence knowing that the price you see is what you pay.
Skip permits in Cambridgeshire
If your skip is sitting entirely on private land, such as your driveway or off-street garden, you won't need a council permit. However, if it needs to go on a public highway, pavement, or council parking bay in Cambridgeshire, local authorities require a road permit and safety light package.
Don't worry about wrestling with council forms; we can handle the permit application process for you when you order. Just give us a few working days' notice so everything is approved before delivery day.
For more information, see our skip permit guide, which explains when a permit is required, who applies for it, and what you need to know before booking your skip.
What can (and can't) go in your skip
Most general household, garden, and construction waste can go straight into your skip. But to keep everyone safe and stay compliant with environmental laws, a few ground rules apply.
Accepted when declared at booking, extra charge applies:
- Sofas and upholstered seating
- Mattresses, fridges, and freezers
- TVs and monitor screens
- Car tyres
- Dry paint tins
- Plasterboard, which must be kept separate from general waste
Banned items, we cannot take these under any circumstances:
- Liquids and wet paint
- Asbestos
- Gas bottles and canisters
- Clinical, medical, or hazardous waste
- General food waste
For a full breakdown of items and restrictions, read our complete guide on what can and cannot go in a skip.
Need heavy lifting? Try grab hire in Cambridgeshire
Got a massive mound of soil or muck sitting on your driveway? Loading a skip by hand with a shovel can take all weekend, and ruin your back.
Our grab hire service sends an 8-wheel lorry capable of shifting up to 16 tonnes of muck, soil, or hardcore per load. Our skilled drivers pull up alongside your pile at ground level and scoop it up in around 30 minutes.
Important note on access: our grab lorries load strictly alongside the pile at ground level. We do not reach, lift, or load over walls, fences, hedges, or over the lorry cab or rear. You will need access space approximately 10 metres high by 5 metres wide for the vehicle to operate safely.
Grab hire is arranged over the phone. Give us a call to talk through your site.
Where your waste goes
When our bright orange lorries collect your skip, your waste isn't dumped into a hole in the ground. It's brought straight back to our local recycling yard, where materials are sorted, separated, and processed.
Bricks and soil are reprocessed, metals are reclaimed, and wood is recycled, keeping as much waste as possible out of landfill and helping protect the local Cambridgeshire environment.
