Choosing the right skip size
We offer skip hire options for everything from minor garden clear-outs and DIY projects to large-scale construction and demolition work. Choosing the right capacity makes the job easier and avoids paying for space you do not need.
- 2-yard mini skip: small garden tidy-ups and simple DIY jobs. Booked by phone or business portal.
- 4-yard skip: bathroom refits and small shed clearances.
- 6-yard skip: the standard driveway skip for soil, stone and general building waste.
- 7-yard skip: kitchen refits and large garden clearances, one step below the builders skip. Booked by phone or business portal.
- 8-yard builders skip: the largest size for heavy waste: soil, concrete, rubble and bricks.
- 10-yard skip: bigger clear-outs and renovations. Bulky light waste only.
- 12-yard skip: larger clear-outs of bulky, lightweight waste.
- 14-yard skip: big building projects and large house clearances. Light waste only.
- 20-yard RoRo container: high volumes of construction waste on larger sites. Booked by phone only.
- 40-yard RoRo container: the largest we run, for site clearances and industrial projects. Booked by phone only.

What can and cannot go in your skip
Most general household, garden, and construction waste can go straight into your skip. However, strict environmental rules mean certain items need special processing.
- Standard items accepted: soil, garden waste, bricks, rubble, timber, metal, plastic, domestic furniture, and cardboard.
- Accepted when declared at booking, extra charge applies: sofas and upholstered seating, mattresses, fridges and freezers, TVs and monitors, tyres, dry paint tins, and plasterboard, which must be kept separate from general waste.
- Items never accepted: liquids, paint tins containing liquid, asbestos, gas bottles, clinical waste, and food waste.
For a full breakdown of loading rules, check our detailed guide on what can and cannot go in a skip.
Need a skip permit in Norfolk?
If you have a private driveway, front garden, or off-street land to place your skip, you will not need a permit. If the skip has to sit on a public road or pavement, Norfolk County Council requires an official road permit.
Do not worry about wrestling with council forms. We organise the permit application on your behalf when you book online. Council approvals can take a few working days to clear, so book a little early if your skip is heading onto the street.
Visit our skip permit guide to learn when a permit is needed and how to make sure everything is in place before your booking.
Need heavy lifting? Try Norfolk grab hire
If you have a massive pile of soil, concrete, or muck sitting on your site, our Norfolk grab hire service can help keep your project moving. Our 8-wheel grab lorries carry roughly 16 tonnes per load and include 30 minutes of loading time.
Our hydraulic arm loads alongside the pile at ground level. For safety reasons, we do not reach, lift, or load over walls, fences, or hedges, and we never operate over the lorry cab or rear. You will need clear site access of about 10 metres high by 5 metres wide.
Grab hire is arranged over the phone. When you are ready to book, give us a call to discuss your site or request a grab hire quote.
Sorting waste right here in Norfolk
We care about keeping Norfolk green.
When our drivers pick up your skip, it travels straight back to our licensed recycling facility. We sort through every load by hand and machine to separate metals, timber, soil, plastics, and aggregate.
By sorting materials thoroughly, we keep as much waste as possible out of landfill and make sure as much as possible gets recovered and reused across Norfolk construction projects.
