How big is a 2-yard skip?
If you’re wondering exactly how much you can fit in a 2-yard skip, then the SunSkips handy skip hire guide is for you!
But to give you a quick overview: a 2-yard skip has a volume equivalent to 1.5 cubic metres. You’ll be able to get 16 bin bags worth of waste in the container or 3 standard trailers.
A 2-yard skip measures 1.5m x 1m x 0.75m (or 5’0’’ x 3’4’’ x 2’5’) and only takes up half a standard car parking space, so they’re perfect for those worried about having room to place it on their property.
Is a 2-yard skip right for my waste disposal needs?
For those tackling a smaller DIY job or clearout at home or the office, the 2-yard skip might just be big enough to handle your waste.
The 2-yard skip is the smallest container we offer at SunSkips and is often called a “mini-skip” in the industry.
No matter what waste you need to get rid of, from building rubble to garden rubbish, the 2-yard skip is suitable for the job and will save you the hassle of lugging it all down to the local recycling centre.
How much is a 2-yard skip?
SunSkips’ prices to hire a 2-yard skip vary depending on your location in the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk area - and we can guarantee the best value service around.
For commercial and industrial clients, it’s best to speak directly with a member of our team so we can get you the best quote for your specific waste management needs.
Because the 2-yard skip is the smallest skip available, you should be sure that your waste will fit, because having to order another skip later will work out more expensive.
Will I need a skip hire permit for a 2-yard skip?
The 2-yard skip is so small that it’ll usually fit on most private premises, whether on the driveway or in the back garden.
But if you don’t have private grounds on which to keep it, you’ll need to get a permit from the local council in order to have it delivered on a public road.
Skip hire permits are available from your local authority and usually aren’t a problem to obtain for such a small, unobtrusive skip. Permits take around a week to be approved, but SunSkips can take care of it for you so all you need to worry about is waiting for your 2-yard skip to be delivered (£110 additional fee, most of which is to cover the fee charged by the council).
The price you’re quoted is the price you pay with SunSkips. There are no hidden fees or credit card charges. However, you might like to pay a small supplement for SunSkips to dispose of any special items such as mattresses, fridges or TVs (you can make the request when you book over the phone or online).
